Natural stone paving

Natural stone paving in the countryside areas is suitable for any type of the landscape - the nature, regular, theme, oriental, and others. Each type has its own natural stone, creating a certain mood in the area, being a permanent, integral part of the landscape.

Natural stone paving is a kind of practical arrangement of your site, because material and construction costs of natural stone paths are fully justified, given the longevity of these formations. Properly paved paths and grounds of natural stone will last for years. And the older the stone is, the richer it looks. Paths of your garden can be made of the following types of natural stone: granite pavers, granite, sandstone, shale, basalt, and combined several types of stone.

Laying granite pavers

The most steadfast, beautiful and durable material for paving of roads, for car rides, barbecue sites, bridges, is granite pavers - sawn or chipped.

Granite, by its properties, is a durable material that is not afraid of abrupt changes in temperature. There are the following sizes of the granite pavers: 100*100*100, 50*100*100, 50*50*50, 200*100*100, Hexagon. By way of manufacturing granite pavers can be chipped, sawn, sawn-chipped. Chipped granite pavers are made on machines – mechanic ricker or manual ricker.

Pavers can be laid in different patterns, from simple geometry to interesting ornaments designed by artists. Pavers are placed on the prepared concrete or gravel chippings ground, on dry mixture. Laid pavers are compacted and dusted with dry sand. Experienced professionals shall carry out this work.

Flagging of sandstone and shale

Sandstone and shale - materials, easy to use. They have a range of colors from gray tones, ocher-brown to golden and terracotta. Flagstone step path of the sandstone is very impressive, when the grass is growing in the joints between the slabs.

This path does not violate the integrity of the green lawn. In such type of paving The shales and sandstones of the Ukrainian fields – of Zhytomyr, Lugansk and Ternopil regions are used in such type of paving.

Paths of gravel and pebbles

The narrow, winding paths on a site are suited a modest covering of gravel or small pebbles. The basis for these paths is made of gravel chippings, and the top is filled with gravel. The thickness of the gravel backfill should be 3- 4 cm. Such paths are the most simple to manufacture, and therefore the most inexpensive. The gravel path can be “linked” with small slabs of natural stone, laying them on top of gravel to prevent the displacement of small stones while walking. Strengthening of the path with the slabs does not let the gravel to “crawl”, keeps it within certain limits. And because these slabs are still a kind of decoration, they should be in harmony with the basic coating.

Pebbles of medium and large sizes can be laid on the paths and grounds of the site not subjected to heavy loads. Pebbles are placed on a concrete grout foundation.

Pebbles are also applicable in the design of the shores of ponds, approaches to the coast.
